The plant was acquired by Aleksey Martynenko, founder and owner of the company. Foundation of the Umalat brand. Start of production of fresh brined cheeses: bryndza cheese, sulguni, Circassian cheese.
First on the Russian market, the company starts industrial-scale production of mozzarella cheese with a classic recipe under the supervision of an Italian technologist.
Foundation of the Unagrande brand, launch of a new product line – Italian cheeses. White package of the product is connected with freshness and pureness of the product. The heart in the logo is done in the national colors of Italy.
Three product lines are chosen as leading in the product range of the company: Italian, Caucasian and Balkan cheeses.
Foundation of the Pretto brand within the Italian cheese product line to produce mozzarella, ricotta and mascarpone cheeses with classic recipes at affordable prices. Launch of a new original patented package for butter – a butter dish.
Completion of the first stage of modernization of the plant, which will lead to the increase of production volume by 2.5 times. Installation of new automated packaging machines from Italy.
Building of a new unit of the plant, installation of a new ventilation system with a two-stage air filtration. The well was modified to ensure enough water for production, and electric capacities were increased. New waste treatment facilities were built.
Rebranding of “Pretto”. The package approached the Russian consumers: names of cheeses were translated into Russian, packages of smaller weight became available, and package color was changed to sunny yellow. All this helped increase the sales of the brand by 30% in the first year.
The Umalatte butter package rebranding: it is now sold under the Umalat brand. Launch of unique product for the Russian market: fresh pasteurized cream with fat content 38%.
Nowadays the company produces more than 55 SKU under the brands of Italian cheeses Unagrande, Pretto and Caucasian cheese product line Umalat. The company has plans to increase production capacities by 2.5 times in 2019.
